El son t\u00e9 una funci\u00f3 reparadora en tots els \u00e0mbits de la vida i exerceix una activitat cerebral molt diferent de la de l&#8217;estat de vig\u00edlia.<\/p><p>El son juga un paper important en la regulaci\u00f3 metab\u00f2lica, l&#8217;organitzaci\u00f3 de la vida ps\u00edquica i la construcci\u00f3 de mem\u00f2ries i aprenentatges. Pot oc\u00f3rrer en estats d&#8217;ansietat o depressius, en la majoria dels trastorns mentals o en moments de simple preocupaci\u00f3 i de tensi\u00f3 perllongada. La somnol\u00e8ncia respon a una s\u00e8rie de mals h\u00e0bits del son, a estats depressius ocults o al consum d&#8217;alcohol o psicotr\u00f2pics.<\/p><p>Durant el son tamb\u00e9 poden presentar-se trastorns de la conducta \u2014moviments excessius, conductes complexes i sense control, somnambulisme, etc.\u2014 i roncs i apnees que augmenten el risc de patir un problema cardiopulmonar. Tanmateix, davant de qualsevol trastorn perllongat del son, \u00e9s aconsellable demanar una avaluaci\u00f3 neurol\u00f2gica i\/o
